How cool! The church you're standing in front of in the first picture has a Dutch dedication written on it. Probably from back when the Dutch were the Colonial Overlords of Indonesia, but still pretty neat to see - I can even understand it! If you get a chance, see if you can go to a traditional Dutch-Indonesian restaurant there and order the "rijstafel;" it's like tapas (small plates) but with Asian-style food and flavors. I'm glad to see you looking happy!
Oh Liz...it seems like you are having such an amazing experience! Despite the smell of course. I imagine it will be like the sound of the el at some point though...you'll just phase it out. Well...except when it detrimentally effects your conversation on the patio at McGee's. ;) And seriously, if moving to Jakarta means losing 6 pounds in 3 weeks, then I want to move tomorrow. Hmmm...I'm hungry. Are you coming home at all during your 6 month leave? I assume it's super expensive (though I really want to come visit you!), but if you do come home, you have to let me know!
